A guest trial without an advertising cookie

You can cap free usage without standing up a tracking pixel. Launch Sphere does it with an essential cookie and a named processor list.

Most product teams treat a guest trial as a tracking problem. They drop a marketing pixel “just to measure conversion,” then spend the next quarter arguing about the banner.

You do not need that pixel to enforce three free tries.

Launch Sphere lets someone hit Prompt Enhancer with no account. The cap is an essential cookie plus a server-side check. There is no advertising cookie, no third-party analytics tag on the marketing site’s critical path, and the public policy names the processors that actually see data: Stripe for cards, OpenRouter for models, Cloudflare for images.

The interesting constraint is product, not legal copy. If the trial required an email, the data story would include an identity. If the trial required a pixel, the data story would include an ad vendor. Neither is required to let someone try the tool.

That is the bar I want on my own apps: the privacy page should describe the product that shipped, not a wishlist of controls we meant to add later.
